Myang is a fabulous South African company that make shoes, hats, toys and baby linen. It is an all-woman company that provides employment and upliftment to impoverished women in the friendly city of Port Elizabeth. Myang has 8 full time ladies designing and sewing there range and provides many other women with jobs they can do from home – which we as moms know is something we all seek.
What an amazing business Myang is; its Afro-centred products are a win all over the world. Myang brought out a new summer range this year and I had the privilege of receiving a Myang parcel; 2 hats and a gorgeous sheshewe ellie rattle in a beautifully printed linen bag.
I believe you can never have enough hats for your kids; living in sunny South Africa (or anywhere in the world really!) we need to be vigilant about keeping our little ones protected from the sun. I have hats all around the house so there is always one to grab as we head out the door onto the farm for a ‘treasure hunt’ – there is always something precious in their eyes to find. Our new Myang hats have become a firm favourite! My boys demand I find these hats before we leave. They love the prints and the fit. For me I love the wide brim to protect those little noses and necks and the draw string under the chin to keep little hands from pulling them off.
Myang also makes gorgeous shoes. They come in a variety of styles and are just the cutest things you ever did see. I fell in love with their little girl shoes but moms of boys don’t be disheartened, they have a stunning range of boys shoes too!
If you are looking for something unique and different this is the online shop for you. Little Miss L got a beautiful ellie rattle made out of shweshwe material, which she has enjoyed from a young age. For me all things South African are distinctive and carry a symbol of our special nation. The fact that Myang provides employment for many underprivileged woman who are mothers and often the breadwinners in the family makes Myang EXTRA special!
Ladies this is the online baby boutique to frequent. Their items are unique, exceptional and every stitch is a stitch of love into the fabric of our Nation.
