Trader Policy

The Mamahood website and Online Market have been created with you in mind. Our vision is to bring you a website that is relevant to supporting you in a new E-commerce and business growth opportunity.

Please take some time to read through our Trader Policy.

Accepting these Terms

By registering as a Trader on the Mamahood website and opening your shop in the online Market, you are automatically agreeing to comply with these Terms. These Terms set out your rights and responsibilities as a Mamahood Trader and are a legally binding contract between you and Mamahood (Pty) Ltd, hereafter referred to as Mamahood.

Amendment of Terms

We may at times amend these Terms. Your continued use of Mamahood’s services following the changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
Any amendments to the Terms will be effective from the time they are posted on the Mamahood website. It is your responsibility to familiarise yourself with these Terms and review any amendments.

Registration as a Trader

In order to register as a Trader on Mamahood, open your online shop and make use of the services provided by Mamahood you must meet the following requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older;
  • You must have a selected shop name, your business does not need to be registered but you must select a name for your shop;
  • You must have a business that services South African residents;
  • If you will be opening an online shop you are required to have a valid South African bank account. This is in order to receive payouts from Mamahood.

There is no fee to register as a Trader on the Mamahood Market and create a Trader profile.

Registering as a Trader will give you access to all your Trader benefits on the Mamahood website including your Trader profile, dashboard and the ability to open a shop and sell your product, service and download listings on the Mamahood Online Market.

Registering as a Trader ​does not ​include any advertising benefits on the Mamahood social media platform. If you intend to make use of the social advertising options you will need to subscribe to these separately. 

You must provide accurate, current and complete information about yourself and your business during registration. This data will be used in your Trader profile and therefore all information needs to be correct. You are responsible for maintaining and updating your information as and when necessary. If you update your information on your Trader profile you will also need to inform Mamahood of any changes.
You may not impersonate any person or use a name you are not legally authorised to use.

The registration will be complete once your registration form with all accompanying business information has successfully been submitted.
Once the registration is complete you will receive an automatic email notification to the provided email address. This email will provide you with a link to the Trader guide which will give you all the information on how to set up your Trader profile, open and manage your online shop and other Trader tips. If you do not receive this email please contact us at ​​ so that we can send you this very important & useful guide.

It can take up to 48 hours for your registration to be processed and for our accounts and admin departments to be informed of your new account.

As you are solely responsible for your account, your information provided on your account (including billing details) and all activity occurring on your account, we implore you to protect your account and password and avoid sharing your account details with other people unless very necessary.
Please notify Mamahood immediately should you notice any breach of security or unauthorised use of your account.

Below are the business types that require special provisions in order to register successfully as a Mamahood Trader.

We allow all registered NPO’s to register ​free of charge ​on the Mamahood website and open their charity profile. This registration will include advertising benefits on the Mamahood social media platform.

With your charity profile on the Mamahood website, you will be able to request a Charity Donation Listing whereby our members will be able to donate their chosen amounts to your organization.

You will be able to advertise your organization on the Mamahood social media platform, however, all posts must strictly be about your NPO and cannot contain a request for monetary donations. You may direct our members back to your charity profile on the Mamahood website in order for our members to donate to your cause.

Please email us at ​​ with your NPO registration details as well as a copy of your ​NPO certificate that includes your registration number ​so that we can issue you a discount voucher code in order for you to subscribe your organisation to our advertising service free of charge.

In your online shop, you may only provide services, downloads or products that are related to the business you are registered under. If you provide multiple offerings that are not directly related to each other then you will need to register a second business. You can register a second business at any time by creating a new membership account with the second business’ email address and details, and following the full registration procedure in order to set up a second Trader profile. Each business that you register will require a unique email address.
In the event that we become aware that you are providing unrelated products, downloads or services under one Trader profile, we will inform you that you will be required to register a second business.

All business structures that have a head office with branches, representatives or coaches in different areas must each register separate Trader profiles as these are seen as separate businesses. The head office may create a Trader profile for the brand as a whole while each branch or representative can create Trader profiles applicable to their area.

Companies that take care of the marketing for other businesses may register as a Trader and create a Trader profile to promote their marketing services on the Mamahood Market. However, in order to promote one of the businesses that have signed up for your services, this business will first have to register as a Trader on the Mamahood website and create their own Trader profile. You may complete the registration process on their behalf and manage their Trader profile and online shop, or they can register themselves and inform us that you will be the contact person on their account.

Mamahood does not allow for any directories, multi-vendor stores or any other business format that is similar to the Mamahood business structure to register on the Mamahood website. We reserve the right to decline your registration and remove your Trader profile from the Mamahood Market.

Setting up your Trader Profile & Creating Shop Listings

In the Trader guide that you will receive upon registration, there will be step by step instructions on how to set up your Trader profile and open your shop.

It will be your responsibility to set up your own profile as well as open your shop, list your products, services and/or downloads on the Market and keep your shop updated and managed correctly.

The information you used during registration will be used inside your Trader profile. You may edit this information while setting up your profile. Please ensure that all information used is accurate, current and complete as this information will be publicly visible to all members viewing your profile on the Market.

You will be required to set up your Trader profile and complete all the required fields in order to publish your profile on the Mamahood Online Market. The required fields include your business details with your contact information and business address, a cover photo, logo and biography.

Your Trader profile will need to be set up with all the required fields and published to the Market before you can create any shop listings, ie. upload your products, service or downloads to your online shop.

If you will only be using the Trader profile section and will not be making use of the shop feature, then you will need to indicate in the checkboxes in the profile tab of your Trader dashboard, that you will not be selling and will not be requiring delivery.

If you will be opening a shop and creating listings for sale on the Market you will need to set-up a delivery method and provide us with your Payfast payment account details in order for your shop to be published. 

Once your Trader profile is set up and has been approved and published, you will then be able to create shop listings. You create shop listings when you upload your products, downloads and services on the Mamahood Online Market. Your shop listings will need to meet the following requirements:

  • Your description must be accurate and not false, misleading, deceptive or fraudulent;
  • Your description cannot be forged, threatening, offensive or otherwise constituting harassment;
  • Your products, downloads and/or services must be reasonably fit for the purpose for which goods of that kind are commonly bought;
  • You are the legal owner of the product, service or download you are offering for sale on the Market and you have the legal capacity to conclude the sale;
  • You will not hyperlink to, or include descriptions of goods and services that you are not offering for sale in your shop on the Mamahood website.
  • You will not include any branding or watermarks on the imagery used for your shop listings;
  • You will not create multiple listings for the same product, service or download;
  • Your listings are made in compliance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa and especially that of the Consumer Protection Act that became effective 1 April 2011.

You are required to give a detailed and accurate description of each of your product, download or service listings in your shop:

  • In order for our members to clearly understand what they are purchasing.
  • In order for your product, service or download to adequately correspond with the description that you have posted on your shop listing.

In order to submit your Trader profile to be published on the Market, all required fields need to be completed. You can create shop listings for the Market only once your Trader profile has successfully been published. Shop listings will also need all required fields to be completed before submittal to be published.

All new Trader profiles, as well as product, service and download listings, will be reviewed by Mamahood before they are published on the Market.​ ​If there are any issues with the information and/or imagery provided, we reserve the right to put your listing on hold until such time as it meets our specific requirements. We will notify you of the reason your listing has been put on hold and the adjustments that must be made for it to meet our requirements. Please note that this is for your own benefit so that we can ensure that your business and listings are presented as professionally as possible in order to maximise interest in your listings.

Please note that it may take some time for our admin to review your Trader profile and shop listings and approve them to be published on the market.

When you request your shop to be reviewed and certain information is not provided, Mamahood may set up your shop using our default shop settings. 

If you create a product listing which will require delivery but no delivery fee is provided, we will then set up a R100 flat rate fee for you. You may edit this to your specific requirements at any time.

If no PayFast payment account details are provided, your account will be set up so that all proceeds from your orders will be received by Mamahood’s payment account. We will then reimburse your proceeds from the sale to the bank account we have on record. We will request your banking details if none is on record. Please view the Payments & Fee Schedule section below to understand how the transaction fees will work in this case.
You can provide us with you PayFast details at any time and we will then link your order proceeds to be directly paid into your own payment account.

If you attempt to list certain products, services or downloads on the Mamahood Online Market that we feel may present a risk to our community; are inconsistent with our values; are harmful to our members; or simply are not in the spirit of Mamahood, we reserve the right to prohibit you from listing the said items on the Market or advertising them on the Mamahood social media platform. We can decide to not list one particular item from your shop or not allow you to register on the Mamahood platform at all.

The following items are prohibited or restricted on the Mamahood Online Market or social media platform:

  • Any illegal products, services or downloads, items promoting illegal activity and highly regulated items;
  • Any listings that are hateful or racially, sexually, ethnically or otherwise objectionable;
  • Any listings that use copyrighted logos or imagery, or any replicated items;
  • Alcohol, tobacco, drugs and drug paraphernalia;
  • Animal products or human remains;
  • Hazardous materials, firearms, explosives and weapons and items that could be of danger;
  • Pornography and mature content;
  • Food that is not packaged or does not comply with all laws governing the sale of food to consumers;
  • Any unsafe weight loss products;
  • Any directory-based advertising or any sales of business advertising space, including print and/or online;
  • Any listings that you do not have the legal right to sell.

Policy decisions are complex. We consider many different and often divergent factors before coming to a decision about what is best for our community.
If you are uncertain that your product, service or download will be eligible to be listed, please email us at​ before creating the listing, so that we can verify if your listing will be approved.

We know that you have taken the time to properly describe your shop and shop listings and know how important these elements are to run a professional operation. This is why we have to insist that all wording and imagery used to be of original content.
All descriptions used must be of your own wording. All photographs used must be of your own products and must be taken by yourself or a professional photographer. No use of stock photography will be permitted.

At Mamahood we respect your intellectual property and as such we are committed to ensuring that any content that infringes on your intellectual property rights is removed from our website and all corrective actions are followed.
If you feel that content that you own or have rights to has been used on the Mamahood website without your express authorisation, you can report this to Mamahood to be removed by completing a form to ​log a complaint.

If you post content that infringes on another person’s intellectual property, the procedure will be to remove the unauthorised content with a warning. We reserve the right to terminate your account if it is made clear that you repeatedly make use of other people’s intellectual property without their permission.

At Mamahood, we value transparency. Transparency means that you honestly and accurately represent yourself, your products, services or downloads and your business.

We may reach out to you at any time with a more detailed inquiry about your business. Please be prepared to provide additional details about your business. Please respond to any inquiries from us in a timely manner.

Our Market is built on trust. Providing false, inaccurate, or misleading information is prohibited by our Terms of Use. If we find that you’re not being open and honest with us, we may suspend or terminate your account.

You understand that you are solely responsible for your content and any listings you create. You represent that you have all necessary rights to your content and that you’re not infringing or violating any third party’s rights by posting it.

By posting shop listings on the Mamahood Online Market, you grant Mamahood a license to use your branding including your trademark, logo and wording for promotional purposes.​ ​We don’t claim any ownership of your branding, but we have your permission to use it as part of our marketing materials to help Mamahood function and grow. This will help us easily promote your shop listings and not infringe on any of your rights.

Managing your Shop

Once your shop has been set up and you have shop listings in the Market you will need to ensure that you manage your shop correctly and keep all your inventory up to date.

It will be your responsibility to keep your shop updated with relevant prices and make sure they are correct at all times. All listings will be sold at the price stated on each shop listing.

All items listed in your shop must either be in stock or readily available. If you no longer sell or have a specific item in stock, you must either edit the inventory of the item indicating that there is no stock available or this item must immediately be removed from your shop.

It will be your responsibility to keep all your details accurate and current. This includes all business contact information, personal details, delivery and billing addresses and banking details.
If there are any changes to any of your details you must update them immediately inside your Trader dashboard. You will also need to inform the Mamahood team of any changes by emailing your new details through to ​​.

When a Mamahood member purchases a product, service or download from your shop you will be notified via email of this new order. All the order details will also be visible inside your Trader dashboard for you to view and complete the necessary steps for a successful delivery.

As a Trader, you may choose to run a promotion on items listed in your shop by either running a sale or issuing coupons.

You may choose to run a sale by discounting your listing price/s by a certain percentage. You can run a sale on a single listing or multiple listings. You will have control over the time period for which you want your sales to run.

Sales are public and will be displayed to all members.

You can manage your sale listings from inside your Trader dashboard. It will be your responsibility to manage your sale prices and scheduling of your sales, as all listings will be sold at the price displayed in your shop.

You may create and distribute coupons at your discretion to the Mamahood members, which they can redeem for a discounted value in your shop. You will easily be able to create coupons inside your Trader dashboard.

You can create coupons for all the listings you have in your shop or just for a particular listing. You may give a percentage discount or a Rand value discount. You will also be able to stipulate the time period for which the coupon is valid and how many coupons are available to be issued.

Coupons are not displayed publicly and you will need to issue these to your customers privately.

It is your responsibility to communicate the terms or limitations for promotions to the Mamahood members and your customers when sharing the details of your promotion.

In the event that you will be unable to manage your shop or complete orders for a period of time (for example, when you go on holiday) you can request to hide your entire shop from public visibility on the Mamahood Online Market. You can email your request to hide your shop through to and we temporarily remove your Trader profile from the Market. We will not remove your listings permanently but will ensure they are not searchable for our members. Once you are ready to proceed with orders again you let us know and we will reactivate your Trader profile and return all your listings back on to the Market.

Shop Policies

There are 2 separate policies that need to be considered, your delivery policy and your refund policy. Mamahood has set standard policies for both deliveries and refunds and these will be used if you do not insert your own policies.


Mamahood has set a standard delivery time of 10 working days after a completed order. If you require a longer processing time to complete your delivery, then you will need to state this in your delivery policy.

You have 3 delivery options available of which you can select as many as are relevant to your shop. The delivery options include free local pickup, free delivery over a specific amount and a flat rate.

If you enable the free local pickup option then customers will be able to select to collect their orders from your address and not pay any delivery fees. It will be your responsibility to arrange collection times with your customers.

If you enable the free delivery over a certain amount option then you will be required to stipulate the amount required to be spent in your shop to qualify your customer to receive free delivery. 

If you do enable the flat rate option you will be required to select your standard flat rate/s. If you do not provide an amount, Mamahood will input our default amount of R100.

You can enable multiple flat rates for your customers to choose between making it easier to provide delivery via different methods and to different locations throughout South Africa.
If you do have a variety of listings where some require additional fees due to the fact they are more specialized or are larger in size, then you can create additional shipping classes. There are two extra shipping classes available, medium and large. Here you can set two levels of higher pricing which you can assign to these specific listings when uploading them to the Market.

You will be required to charge an appropriate amount for your delivery and may under no circumstance inflate your prices.

You are responsible for all the scheduling and the delivery of completed orders to the purchasing member. Please keep in mind that you are responsible for making sure that your customer receives the product/s they have purchased from your shop.

All deliveries must be made in a timeous and professional manner, and you are required to promptly despatch the products after they are sold. Prompt delivery means that each item is delivered within 10 working days of purchase unless you have specified otherwise in your delivery policy.

If in the event that you require additional time to complete the delivery of an order, you are obligated to communicate this to your customer and obtain your customer’s consent.

An informed customer is a happy customer, therefore communication is key. You will need to make sure that you are constantly in contact with your customers and updating them on their delivery status. Once your delivery has been processed you will need to send them the details of the delivery including tracking numbers and delivery date.

In the unlikely event that an order does not arrive, be prepared to provide valid proof of delivery. Valid proof of delivery must show that the item was despatched and that it was sent to the address provided on the Mamahood website.

Delivery to the wrong address is likely to result in a non-delivery case, so make sure to deliver to the address stated on the order on the Mamahood website.

If a buyer does not receive their order, they may file a case against your shop and you will be obligated to issue the customer a full refund.


Mamahood has set a refund policy that if products are returned within 14 days and are in their original condition and packaging, your customer can request a full refund. You are required to outline your refund policy in your Mamahood shop policy section if it differs from the refund policy that Mamahood has set out for your shop.

Mamahood will not be responsible for any refunds. All inquiries, if any, will be redirected to you, and you will be expected to manage the situation professionally and amicably.

In the event you are required to issue a refund, you will be responsible to refund the final sales price that the customer paid for the order including delivery fees and transaction fees. You will not be entitled to claim any fees back from Mamahood.

If an out of stock product is sold and you will not be able to supply the customer with the products they have purchased, you will be liable to refund your customer immediately, regardless of whether or not you have yet received a payout for the sale.

In the event that you are able to order more stock of the product, you can communicate this with your customers and obtain their consent for any additional waiting time. If your customer declines the extra waiting time you will need to proceed with the full refund.

As a Mamahood Trader, you are expected to conduct yourself and your business dealings in a professional manner. This includes good communication with your customers and high-quality service. If a dispute arises, you agree to resolve the dispute directly with your customers amicably and professionally.

In the event that a dispute is escalated to Mamahood’s complaint system, Mamahood reserves the right to issue a refund to your customer if a transaction is found to violate Mamahood’s Terms of Use and Trader Policy. Mamahood will then seek reimbursement from your payment account. Please refer to reimbursements inside the payments and fee schedule below.
We reserve the right to cancel your Trader account if you do not resolve any disputes that are found to be in violation of Mamahood’s Terms of Use and Trader Policy. Please refer to the Cancellation Section below for further details.

Payments and Fee Schedule

As a Mamahood Trader, you will be allowed to create your own online shop within the Mamahood website in order for you to list, promote and sell your products, services and/or downloads. Below we will outline all the fees associated with your online shop as well as provide you with information about your payment account, also what happens in cases of fee avoidance and defaults on any advertising fees. Mamahood’s services are conditioned upon the fulfilment of your payment obligations.

In order to open a shop on the Mamahood Online Market and create listings for sale, you will be required to have a payment account with Payfast. Payfast is a payment gateway and by having a payment account you will be able to accept all major credit cards, debit cards and instant EFTs for sales made on the Mamahood Market.

You will easily be able to sign up for your free Payfast account online on HERE. All proceeds from sales made through the Mamahood Market (less Mamahood’s 15% transaction fee) will be transferred into your payment account where you will have full access and will be able to release funds on your own schedule.

You will be required to submit your Payfast Merchant ID and Payfast Merchant Key to Mamahood in order for us to link your shop to your payment account. You will be able to submit your Payfast details to Mamahood from inside your Trader dashboard.

Below is an outline of the fees associated with your Trader account. Mamahood’s services are conditioned upon the fulfilment of your payment obligations.

Unless otherwise stated, all fees are quoted in South African Rands and are inclusive of VAT.

We do not charge any fees to register as a Trader on the Mamahood Market and there are no monthly subscription fees related to being a Trader on our website.

Mamahood charges a per-transaction fee every time you make a sale in the Market. A transaction fee of 15% will be levied on the total value of your sale, including delivery fees.
You will need to take this transaction fee into account when submitting your products, services or downloads and delivery prices.

Payment Processing Fees
PayFast charges a flat rate as well as a percentage of each order to process the payment for that transaction. However, you will not have to pay any of these fees as Mamahood has factored these costs into your Transaction Fee.

Payment of your Transaction Fees
When a customer purchases something from your shop, Mamahood will deduct our transaction fee from the total amount of the sale and the full balance of 85% of the order will be transferred into your payment account within 48 hours of a successful order.

When no PayFast Details are Provided
When you create listings for the Market but have not provided any PayFast details, Mamahood will set up your account so that the proceeds of your orders will be paid directly into our payment account.

In this case, we will make a payment of your proceeds to the bank account we have on record. If we do not have banking details for you then we will email you requesting these details so that payment can be made.

Please be aware that in this case, your transaction fee will be 20% as Mamahood incurs extra fees and VAT charges. You will be able to provide us with PayFast details at any time and we will then link your payment to be made directly to your own payment account. Your transaction fee will then decrease to our standard 15% fee.

Mamahood offers optional paid social advertising packages which will provide the benefit of advertising on the Mamahood social media platform. These subscription packages are only available to registered Traders. It is entirely in your discretion if you wish to subscribe to any one of these packages.

If your business is VAT registered you will responsible for collecting and paying any taxes and VAT associated with using and making sales through the Mamahood website. We will provide you with the option to input your VAT number. Please note that your listing price is VAT inclusive and you will need to include all VAT charges in the price you submit on all your shop listings and delivery fees.

We reserve the right to obtain reimbursement of any amounts owed by you to Mamahood. You authorise us to retrieve these funds from the bank account you have logged in your Trader dashboard.

We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to seek reimbursement from you as a Trader in any of the following circumstances:

  • There has been a default on the debit order for your transaction or advertising fees and there is an outstanding balance due to Mamahood;
  • If in a particular circumstance we feel it warranted to provide a refund to one of your customers. These circumstances may include when a sale has been made without the stock being available, the member did not promptly receive delivery of their order or if a valid refund request has not been honoured;
  • We discover erroneous or duplicate transactions related to an order from your shop;

Mamahood strictly prohibits any action by you as a Trader to avoid paying certain fees. The following actions will be seen as fee avoidance:

  • Encouraging your customers to not purchase from your Mamahood shop and rather from a private channel. A transaction initiated on Mamahood must be completed on the Mamahood website.
  • The price displayed in each product, service or download listing must be an accurate representation of your current pricing structure. You may not over inflate the prices of your listings on Mamahood to drive our members to seek better pricing from a private channel.
  • Charging excessive delivery fees on your Mamahood listings to encourage our members to seek better delivery fees from a private channel.

Mamahood reserves the right to decline transactions that we believe to be high risk, fraudulent, or in violation of our Terms of Use and Trader Policy.


Mamahood encourages you to advertise your published Trader profile with your online shop and all your product, service and download listings on your available web and social media channels. However, in order to take advantage of the advertising benefits on the Mamahood social media platform, you will need to subscribe to one of Mamahood’s social advertising packages.

Rating & Review System

There is a rating and review system on the Mamahood website whereby any Mamahood member can rate your product, service or download directly inside your shop. By registering as a Mamahood Trader and opening a shop you agree to have the rating and review system as part of your Trader profile.
For more information about this system, it’s benefits to all Traders and even some tips on how to improve your ratings, read the Mamahood Trader Guide, which you will receive upon registration.

If you feel that you have received an unfair rating, or have been rated by a Mamahood member which you have had no prior dealings with or even if you have evidence of any abuse of the rating system, please contact us on ​​ and we will investigate the matter. These investigations may take time and can be a lengthy process.
Please note that we cannot guarantee the outcome of this investigation and will only remove a rating if we feel it is absolutely necessary to do so. We feel it is very important to create an atmosphere of trust and honesty between our Mamahood members and Traders with the rating and review system.

If we see that you as a Trader are consistently getting below-average ratings and not performing up to the standard that our Mamahood members have come to expect, we reserve the right to close your Trader account and your online shop.

Professional Business Practises

Mamahood connects our members with creative local businesses from all backgrounds. We aim to cultivate a community where we can inspire one another, build connections and create ongoing relationships around an entrepreneurial spirit. Most importantly we strive to ensure that everyone has a positive experience on the website.

We take pride in our Mamahood platform and want to create a professional business environment with trustworthy Traders that offer great quality service and products. Therefore it is expected that all Traders professionally conduct themselves in all dealings on the platform. If you as a Trader become involved or partake in any unfavourable behaviour that negatively impacts another Mamahood member and/or Trader and also effects the name of the Mamahood brand, we reserve the right to remove you as a Mamahood Trader and close your shop.

You can’t discriminate based upon:
Race, colour, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic protected under applicable law.

Examples of prohibited behaviour on Mamahood include, but are not limited to:

  • Refusal of service based on membership in one or more protected group;
  • Derogatory or demeaning remarks against protected groups listed above;
  • Racial slurs;
  • Posts that support or glorify current or historical hate groups.

If you think discrimination has occurred on Mamahood, please report it by logging a complaint​.



In the event you decide to cancel your Trader account and close your online shop, you will need to email us at to inform us of your intention to cancel your account. Once we have received your email we will close your account and remove any of your listings from the Market.
Please note that once your Trader account is cancelled your Trader profile will not be visible on the Mamahood website.

As a Mamahood Trader, you receive access to your Trader account with accompanying benefits free of charge. Many Traders also subscribe to one of our advertising packages which provide separate advertising benefits and terms and conditions.

Therefore, if you are subscribed to an advertising package and do cancel your Trader account with Mamahood this will have no effect on your advertising subscription. If you intend to also cancel your advertising subscription this will need to be cancelled by following the cancellation procedure outlined in the Advertising Policy.

You will be able to cancel your advertising subscription at any time from the manage subscription tab inside your Trader dashboard, this is located inside your shop tab. We have provided step by step instructions on how to access the manage subscription tab inside the Advertising Guide (please view the Managing your Account page).

When cancelling your advertising subscription, you will be directed to choose whether you wish to keep your Trader profile and online shop open, or whether you would prefer to close this.

Our Advertising service is provided on an auto-renew system and therefore, it will be your responsibility to cancel your subscription before then next term begins. Once your next term begins you will not be entitled to cancel that term and request a refund of any remaining time on your contract. Mamahood cannot cancel your subscription on your behalf.

You cannot cancel your subscription if you have an outstanding balance die to Mamahood. Your cancellation will be logged but will only come into effect once all fees are settled.

You may not transfer any of the rights and obligations of your Mamahood contract to any other person without our prior written consent.

In the event, you have sold your business and the new owner wants to continue with the contract under your current registration structure, you will need to inform Mamahood via email of the request to transfer ownership.

We will issue you an​ ​online form where you will be able to submit your request for transfer and supply us with all the new owner’s details. At this point, we will approve the transfer. Mamahood will inform the new owner of the process whereby they can register as a Trader and accept the Trader Policy in their personal capacity.

Only once the new owner has accepted the Trader Policy will the transfer of ownership be successful and you will be released from your individual contract.

Mamahood’s functionality may be made available, modified, or discontinued by us at any time without notice and is subject to the limitations in our Terms of Use and Trader Policy.

Once you are a registered Trader you will have continued access to your Trader account and online shop without any further monthly subscription fees.
Once a year Mamahood will send out an email notification whereby you will need to confirm your business details so that we can ensure your business is still operating and all your information is still accurate and current. If you fail to confirm your details we reserve the right to restrict access to your shop.

The following instances will result in Mamahood cancelling your Trader account, closing your online shop and removing all your listings from the Market:

  • If we receive regular complaints about your business and the quality of service you provide;
  • If your inventory is not kept up to date and you are repeatedly found to sell a product on the Market that is out of stock;
  • If your listing description is found to not be an accurate representation of the products, services or downloads you are selling;
  • If there is a case of non-delivery;
  • If your deliveries are repeatedly received after the stated delivery time and we receive complaints about your delivery service or your communication updates regarding deliveries;
  • If we receive regular complaints that you are not abiding by your refund policy and honouring your refund requests;
  • If you are behind in your advertising fees and have an outstanding balance owed to Mamahood;
  • If you use your shop in any other manner than outlined in this Trader Policy or for the sales of any other products, services or downloads that are not directly related to the business you have registered with Mamahood.
  • If your behaviour as a Trader brings the Mamahood’s name into disrepute.


Mamahood acts as a platform and therefore does not endorse, approve or represent any of the content including business services and/or products, statements, information, data, opinions or advice provided by the Traders and members of the Mamahood website.

This website’s creators and administrators have no liability whatsoever pertaining to any actions or transactions originating or deriving from conducting business as a Trader on the Mamahood website. Mamahood is solely a platform for you to be able to promote your business and sell your products, services and downloads, therefore all transactions are at your own risk. Mamahood will not be held responsible for any bad service or poor quality products received and is not obligated to participate in dealing with any complaints made against you as a Trader unless done so at our own discretion.

Mamahood provides directions for the use of the website but does not control the actions or opinions of the members and therefore will not be held responsible for the conduct of any Mamahood members or Traders.

We reserve the right in our sole discretion to alter or remove any services offered. In the event that we introduce a new service, any fees for that service will take effect from the launch of that service, unless otherwise stated.

You release Mamahood and the entirety of our staff of any claims, damages, losses and expenses of any kind relating to a dispute with any Mamahood member or a third party in every circumstance. Under no circumstances will you hold Mamahood or any of the Mamahood staff liable for any infringement of your intellectual property rights, loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of operation time, corruption or loss of information or data and/or loss of contracts resulting from your use of or inability to use the website or the website materials.

Mamahood disclaims all warranties of any kind, either express or implied. No oral or written information provided by us shall create a warranty, nor shall you rely on any such information or advice.

These Terms shall be solely and exclusively governed by, construed and interpreted in accordance with the law of the Republic of South Africa.
